AAAPCC Biennial Conference 2008

A note to remind you to put the dates in your diary for the next AAAPCC Biennial Conference which will be held at Offa House, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire from Monday 12^th May to Wednesday 14^th May 2008.

The theme is POWER AND INTIMACY and the planning group are exploring setting up the conference so we can explore both theoretically and personally on issues such as:

 

Power and Intimacy existing on a continuum

the more power the less intimacy and vice versa

This is not only on a personal level but this is also a theme which plays itself out in relationships within organisations and between countries

 

When Power takes over, often people back away from the organisation, which is engaging in power plays, into their own familiar home territory, where it feels safer.  This is reflected both in the life of the Church and in politics.  It is also possible to reverse power plays and make the atmosphere more friendly.

 

What we intend to do at the Conference is to work at these issues in consistent small groups

and reflect through ideas as well, how it might be possible to transform Power within a group or organisation back into a more nurturing structure of intimacy, including our own organisation.  We hope it will be challenging, down to earth, inspiring and useful.

 

 

Further information in terms of cost will follow when new tariffs are available from Offa House in the New Year.
